Työskentelen puupiirroksella ja serigrafialla. Teokseni koostuvat useista painetuista kerroksista ja maalatusta jäljestä. Puu on merkityksellinen osa prosessiani materiaalina ja työvälineenä. Isojen puupintojen työstäminen on raskasta ja niiden herkkyys paljastuu vasta vedostaessani ohuelle paperille. Haastan itseäni kokeilemaan työskentelytapaa, jossa tarkan suunnitelmallisuuden sijaan annan avoimen prosessin ohjata teoksieni muotoutumista.
My art is very process-led and each phase of creation is very meaningful for me. The central aspects of my work are gestural mark-making, intensive colour surfaces and textures. During the past two years I have developed a mixed-media technique of fabric printing onto canvas, after which I continue to paint with acrylics, adding depth and textures. This creates interesting contrasts between the printed and painted areas. My works are between abstract and figurative; I do not try to portray any specific objects, yet my works still remind us of something familiar.
